New to clay or already hooked? This one-time class is your chance to play, experiment, and create! We’ll roll, pinch, and shape our way through hand-building basics (and beyond). The beauty of hand-building is that there are no limits, if you can imagine it, you can make it! From sleek and modern to rustic, earthy, or wildly whimsical, you’ll leave with something uniquely yours.

Over the course of two weeks, you’ll explore clay from raw form to finished piece. During the first week, we’ll focus on hand-building which includes pinch, coil, and slab work while bring your own creative vision to life. The beauty of handbuilding is its openness: whatever you dream up, you can bring into form. In the second session, you’ll be introduced to glazing, adding layers of color, texture, and personality to make your work truly one-of-a-kind. By the end, you’ll have a piece that’s both functional and a reflection of your creativity.

4-Week Handbuilding & Glazing Class: Self-Portrait Fun
Get ready to dig in and play with clay in this hands-on, four-week class! You’ll receive 25 lbs of clay to experiment with as you sculpt your own creations. Using coil, slab, and pinch techniques, you’ll explore shape, texture, and surface design while learning all aspects of the ceramic process, from greenware to glazing.

Weekly demos will spark inspiration, but the magic happens when you follow your own ideas, twist, pinch, and shape clay in ways that reflect your personality. By the end, you’ll have a unique piece that’s full of character, expression, and a little bit of fun!

Are your kids being homeschooled? We’re offering daytime clay classes designed as engaging extracurricular activities for homeschool students. Each class is carefully curated to meet the needs and interests of the students in attendance. Along with learning traditional hand-building techniques, students will develop skills in teamwork, design, innovation, strategy, storytelling, and more, combining creativity with personal growth in a hands-on, fun environment.
